Petri 7s

I have one but I haven't got around to testing it yet. The VF is bright and the RF patch is contrasty. The lens has a focus tab making it quick to adjust. Should be a good street shooter.

I had one for many years. Several nice features. The meter has a read out inside the VF, as well as on the top plate - so you can adjust exposure without lifting the camera to your eye. The VF is not the brightest, but it is contrasty, so focusing is easy. I had the f/2.8 model and the lens was very sharp and very constrasty. Mine broke when it fell out of my backpack, otherwise I'd still have it. Would love to find another, but I'm hesitant to get on ebay because I'd like to test the light meter in person (never can be too sure about old Selenium meters).

It´s easy and accurate to focus. The aperture ring is stepless and when advancing the film you can hear a metallic "klank" at the end of the stroke.

Both pictures from 15 years ago. Petri 7S II 45mm/2.8, HP5

I've had mine for years, good RF, great even superior lens, the meter is iffy (you really have to be careful with it), and it has a needle of the top of the camera besides in the viewfinder. Cocking the camera is noisy, but the release is quiet and soft.

Of course flash synch to 1/500:

Bought one from a collector who got it from a Japanese person. I'm hyped since I'm clearing my cameras and I need something different

Is the patch faint for you?
I find it difficult to see the image to allign..

I had one about 8 years ago, and ran about 2 rolls through it before it broke. It took good pictures, but had a distinctly cheap feel. One day the advance lever just "snapped" inside.

The problem is that the yellow that appears on the VF is very faded.
I've received the camera today, mint- condition from a private japanese collection. The problem is the viewfinder.

Put a piece of tape on the front VF window as charjohncarter has done.

Yeah, it's lacking high end product feeling, but lens is nice. RF patch isn't best. Overall feeling isn't high five but hey, we all can't be champions. I were bothered by sound while advancing so I had to find at least partial workaround for this.
