I recently picked up a Petri Color 35 (in black no less) from fellow RFF member tigerphil for just the cost of shipping. He even thru in a Gordy strap and a skylight filter. Thanks tigerphil!

As tigerphil had indicated in his classified listing the insert which provides the brightlines/frameline and other information has detached and is loose within the top plate.

Has anyone here opened up the Petri Color 35? If so, can you provide advice on things to be mindful of when doing so - or is it pretty straight forward? I plan to take her apart and see if I can fix this problem. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Dave

I went ahead and worked on this camera last night and was able to take it apart, remount one of the diagonal viewfinder mirrors, and give the viewfinder inside surfaces a good gentle cleaning without any problems. It was pretty straightforward.

The viewfinder now looks crystal clear and the brightlines/framelines/info are perfectly aligned and really pop! Even the meter is working like a champ. Thanks goes out again to tigerphil for his generosity.

Encouraging me to work on my Petri Color 35, which has the same problem. Thanks for that.

"THE CAMERA THAT ROLLEI SHOULD HAVE BUILT!!!"

According to the head bartender.

Glad to hear it Kuzano! Let me know if you need any pointers. I just loaded up a roll of Kodak Ektar 100. I'll post results at a later date. One other nice thing about this purchase was it arrived with the recommended, but now unavailable, PX675 battery. Nice! :D

That's a gorgeous little camera. Next time you do a "repair" like that, you should snap a few pics for the rest of us! ;-)
