Hello good sirs and madames.
Recently aquired a well-worn Petri FT1000 in more or less serviceable condition. Everything seems to work (note "seems"), but the test roll I shot is worrysome. Out of 36 exposures, 9 had issues. The film I used was Fuji Superia 200 with an expiry date in 2011 something.
Due to my limited experience with film cameras I'm a bit at loss to determine the cause of the issues. If someone would be so kind as to have a look at a couple of the images and tell me what they think, it could be of great assistance.
There are two different issues it seems. One is a part of the frame being overly dark, but not by the same amount from picture to picture. I am certain nothing (fingers, strap) was covering the lens. I'm guessing this has something to do with the shutter curtain thingy not working as it should, but the uneven edges do surprise me, would think they'd be perfectly even.
I do not know the exposure data of this shot, but expo time was most likely in the area of 60-125th. The lens was a Carenar 35mm F/2.8. The lens does feel a bit.."stiff", in general operation, but the aperture blades do seem to open and close smoothly/lightly.
The second image is what confuses me most. Here the whole frame is exposed but...ehum. WTF? (pardon my french) I'm thinking it might have something to do with the film transport system, no? Negative looks perfectly smooth and physically undamaged. Exosure data for this image is 250-500th, aperture unknown. Lens was a Carenar 135mm F/2.8. Lens appears to be in fantastic condition and everything moves as it should.
Note that I got a number of good frames with either lens, but the partially-dark-frame-thingy seem to happen with both, the other thing I can't quite put a name to only happened with two frames, following each others with the 135mm lens. Any input would be very much appreciated.
