Shaken, so blurred
He's normally a Canon digital guy, but here's his take on a CL, that he put on his website recently:

I think it was a decent piece. Then again, I do like my CL.

He does pose an interesting question, what would have happened if Leica had driven down the CL road a bit further?
Does make one wonder.

I've been using my CL an 40 Rokkor a lot more lately and it sure has been enjoyable. I've grown to like that analog meter. Thanks for the link to the article!

Another thanks for linking to the article. I really like my CL and even more so now that Sherry Krauter has CLA'd it and installed a new meter. Feels and shoots great now. As much as I like my other cameras, there's just something special about the CL.

Indeed...the short base rangefinder is perfectly adequate for wideangles & it's not difficult to see the CL with 24/25 & 28mm framelines. M6 type metering electronics might be made to fit in as well?

The best camera is one that still works!
Great read ... I have a CL that I've never used and I seriously wonder why now. The meter's a bit hit or miss but that's no big deal I guess ... it looks pretty cool with a VCII clipped on to it!

Oops, forget it - I see that I should send it to Sherry Krauter.
Thanks!

I was lucky to have bought my CL and 40 Rokkor from Sherry and everything was perfect at the get go. She is the authority on the CL!

Same here, and the CL and two lenses have been a treat.

cl was my first leica, bought it a few months back. with the 40 cron, it fits in the front hand pocket (suprisingly) of my jacket and as a result, I have brought the camera everywhere with me since I bought it. Dont think Ive ever taken this many "free time" photos in my life. Awesome camera. It aint gonna compete with my M3 for portraits, but my M3 is heavy enough to leave at home when I casually skip out. M3 and a CL is a pretty perfect combo.
