Phil Stern, iconic Hollywood and Combat Photographer

Phil Stern passed away at 95, after creating some of Hollywood's best known images.

Its interesting to contrast his workstyle with the puffed up self importance of some of today's photographer "artists."

He was really one great person. One of my most prized possessions is a photo of his from WWII that showed a small dog behind barbed wire with a sign POW. It was one of his first inject prints. He sent it to me about 10 years ago to thank me for a small favor I did for him and it's on my wall today - I look at it every time I go down my hallway and think of him and how cool digital photography really is!

Godspeed, Phil.
