I am visiting Phoenix (AZ) from this Saturday (October 10th) to attend a conference there but also plan to walk the streets a little in the evening (not as hot as during daytime) and take some photos. On Sunday (October 11th) I might have a full day free from work giving me some time to visit interesting places.

Any tips or information what would be interesting to see in Phoenix around this time of the year? Also a meet-up would be great like we do often here in Tokyo. :)

Your catching the last warm weekend but should be fine, If you've never been here before, A sunset in Papago park is a good way to start. It's 8 miles or 15 minute drive from the city center.
The whole area is spread out and planning a lot in a day is not recommended. What kind of things do you like to do? It can be anything you'd like, Bud light filled ASU football game or a glass of Pinot at Taliesin West?
I live on the east edge of downtown and grew up in the area, I'll try to help out anyway I can.
