Photo Expo in New York!

There is a major photo expo to be held in New York later this month & I thought that members of this forum might be interested. Here's the skinny:

Photoplus Expo
Jocob Javits Convention Center
October 21-21 (Thursday-Saturday)
Opens at 10:00 each morning

I spoke with a representative from Hasselblad-USA, who told me that he has not yet received confirmation that they will be marketing the new Zeiss Ikon in USA, although he is aware that Hasselblad International is the distributor. However, he expects this to be resolved shortly & that they will most likely be doing so. If that is the case, he expects that they would have the Zeiss Ikon system on display at the convention. It seems that this would be a great opportunity for a hands-on preview of the camera & lenses. I would, however, call Hasselblad first to confirm if this is the only reason you are going.

This could also be a nice opportunity for RFF members from the greater NYC area to meet for in-person introductions if so inclined. I plan to go & will post my plans closer to the date.

I have just received confirmation from Carl Zeiss in germany that the new Zeiss Ikon system will be on display at the Hasselblad booth at PhotoPlus Expo later this month in New York.

This is a rare opportunity for those on the East Coast to sample the camera hands-on. See you there!

Lenses, very nice lenses.

Actually the ZI is much more than a rebadged Bessa, but the debates over at the Leica forum tired me out, and I just was reading them.

I look forward to putting my hands on this system just to see what it is like. Perhaps there will be a hands on report of the new ZI here on the RFF in a couple weeks.
