Photo lab in Westchester County, NY?

I am looking for a good lab to develop color and b&w film (135 and 120) in Westchester county in New York. Do you know any good places?

Celesta: Honestly, you're probably going to have to bring them down to the city. I don't know of any labs remaining in either Westchester or across the river in Rockland County (where I grew up).

I always bring my color film to Home Fair Camera, Boston Post Road in Larchmont. They charge about $5 to develop a roll of film (without prints or CD). Turn-around is about 1 hour, C41 development is pretty predictable and I've never had a problem. B&W gets sent out, so you are probably better off learning how to do that on your own. They also stock a nice variety of film in 135 and 120. Its more expensive than buying in bulk from an online retailer, but convenient if you need to pick up a few rolls real quick. I'd like to see them stay in business, and use them when I can.

Home Fair may be a notch up from CVS, but not a pro lab by any means. I would love to hear there's a pro lab in Westchester. Actually I would prefer to move back to NY where I lived for thirty-five years but that's another story.....

Well, C41 is not too fancy - you just want to find a place that doesn't drag your negatives across the floor 😀, but you are right, I would not consider them a full service pro lab.

I've read some reasonable comments about Spectratone Color Labs in White Plains, but have never used them myself.

Thank you for the information. I will definitely check Spectratone Color Labs - turns out they are closeby. I may try Home Fair too, but basically I am hoping for a lab with a proverbial "human touch". I haven't used a lab since 1980s, so now when I look at the film developed in CVS, I have a tough time judging if the low quality is the product of cheap grainy film, bad development process or wrong explosure 🙂)

I've had good results with Sam's Camera Exchange. They have two locations: Mt. Kisco and Scarsdale; I've only dealt with the former. C41 developing is done in both, but printing and B&W are handled at Scarsdale only. Most of the people who work there seem to be experienced and competent when dealing with film.

I googled Spectratone and went to look for them at 230 Ferris St in White Plains. Turned out nobody in that building has ever heard of them... I will try to find their phone id and see if they simply moved elsewhere.
