Dear RFF friends,
what do you think of "Popular Photography"?
I have never read it on paper (I just browse sometime their website), and I am thinking about a subscription as a Christmas gift.
I seems to me that they offer cheap subscription rates: but is it worth reading?
Thanks for your opinions and advices.

Mauro

You get everything on the website thats in the print magazine ... there is often a few columns and tips that are magazine only

it all depends on what you want out of the magazine

American Photography is better in my opinion (though its bimonthly)

Though I love Aperture and Lenswork when I can find it

I've never found it to be a terrible interesting magazine, unless you only read them for the product ads. PDN is my perennial favorite.

I'm one who admits to (still) reading it and buying it occasionally, as well as Shutterbug.

Yes, yes, it's oh-so heavily digital these days, but still can be interesting. I'll often times look thru the TOC and if something seems interesting I'll buy it, quite often at the airport newsstand. If not, I'll pick up a celeb/gossip mag, not that I really care who Britney is seen with or where. Usually PopPhoto or Sbug will be more interesting. (But both far better than SkyMall.) :)

I like the magazine. Simple and up to date info. Read Debbie Grosmann PS tips and Herbert Keppler's point of view about old, RF and panoramic cameras. Everyone can got his corner sometimes in.
