My friend Ernest Zarate was in Henry Wessel's class at the San Francisco Art Institute in the mid-'70s, and took this photo of Gary Winogrand speaking to the class. Henry Wessel, the second person from the left, is loading his Leica.
Ernest recalls that Winogrand was a fascinating speaker, and also said that Wessel was a warm, excellent teacher who really encouraged his students.

Yes, he did a great discussion. You probably know this but there is a long video on YouTube of a seminar by Winogrand, I think at the U. of Texas at Austin, that is absolutely fascinating.

I live in the Bay Area and in the same county as Henry did. I was too busy with kids and work to take a luxury course, but I sure wish I had taken that one.
