Shoot more keeper's.

I like what was said earlier about creating the situation . I have done that to some degree this year but not enough. And in retrospect I did not fully utilize the situations that I created.

More studio projects (read carport with back drop and/or shooting table).

Set up and use my darkroom.

Trim my camera collection back just a bit. There are some redundant items that could be cash for other projects.

I have come to the belief that there is a good shot wherever you are. But you must be alert and open to the possibility.

I will be alert and open to the possibilty.

Visit the Photography Center at the U.of A. . I live here and have never seen it. 🙄

4. More focused shooting, preferably in thoughtful projects / themes with structured duration / timeframe for them, less random shooting.

My RF gear is now about where I want it, Joe. I could probably do without a few more RF items, but most of the stuff I haven't been using are SLR gear. I will be posting them here, but likely they will go to PN, FM or the bay.

1) Get a Canon P.
2) Setup the Nikon E3 and use it to determine Focal Length Deviation in J-3's.
3) Quit Obessing over J-3's.
4) Scan More.

Use up my film stock of Reala this year.

From my desk I can see 80+ rolls and I know there are stashes elsewhere like in various camera bags, non-camera bags, my office fridge.

So call it 100 rolls this year.

I am not much for resolutions as I can never keep them, but here goes:

(1) Read all the photography-related books I bought throughout 2005
(2) Learn to process B&W at home
(3) Be content with the gear that I already have (yeah right!)
(4) What Todd said about shooting more keepers
(5) What Ray said about focused/structured shooting as opposed to random shooting
(6) What Gene said about not becoming obsessed with photography

Very true remrf. I always try and remind myself of the same thing when I am creatively challenged in a particular location/setting.

I'm not one to make (or keep) New Year's Resolutions but here are a few "suggestions" for me in 2006...
1. Use the gear I already own
2. Get more gear I don't own but "cannot live without" (to be defined)
3. Get a better good photo average/roll of film
4. Use one film and developer combination for 35mm and MF

I want to become the next Spiratone, Burke & James, or Ponder & Best, beginning in 2006. By that, I mean that I want Mattocks Photography to become a valuable resource to the photographic community for photographic specialties for which there is not necessarily mass-market demand.
