Photo-related New Year resolutions - stake out now!

My personal proposals are :
1- try to organize the archive of phots, slides, negs polaroids I made uo in more than 30 years of photography . Actually it is really a mess, everything jumps out from everywhere !
2 - to set up my personal web site possibly before summer, ( i have many not RFF photo from the past)
3 - to visit photo (or anyway visual) exhibitions at least once a month
4 - help diffusion of RF photography among my friends and in my photo club
4 - trying to understan well possibities, pro and contra of B&W inkjet printing

Knowing myself and the world around me I would be satisfied if next december at least three points ar ok!

Bill thats kinda cryptic.... what are you up to??

I am in the process of setting up my business, along the lines of J&C or Frugal Photographer. I have many ideas, and it is time to put them in motion.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

I've actually been grabbed by the one Roger Hicks suggests in the back of the current AP: "Shoot more and better photos."

Add to that a desire (resolve is too strong a word) not to submit to GAS, unless finances allow an M6, and/or a fast 50 and maybe a fast 35. Imagine if I could actually limit my purchases for the next 12 months to those three things. That would rock.

(Notwithstanding a plan to rearrange my Canon EOS system to fast primes. That's a separate issue 😀 )

And I really want to finally try out wet printing. And then decide whether to go for a darkroom or a decent inkjet with BW inkset. Again, let's not count that as GAS!

But mainly shoot more and better.

Robert, you cheated. You have 2 #4's. 😀

1. I will get a dedicated scanner. I've stopped paying for CDs locally because of the hit or miss results.

2. I will not buy any other photo related items except film, and possibly, filters.

3. Organize my 30 years of negatives. I started last year, but never finished. Scanning them will assist that endeavor.

4. I will shoot more, and pay more attention to what I am doing.

5. Take the time to review one of my photo books each week for inspiration.

6. Stop putting photography last on the list. The world won't stop if some other stuff doesn't get done.

You are right Brightsky, the second 4 is 5 ( a little complicated, maybe still the alchool from new years party !). Your post remind me I also need to find a yellow (or light orange) filter for my VC 35 mm/ 1,7 f which is not so easy in the area where I live. but this is proposal number...!ciao

7) buy the sharpest 35mm lens in the whole wide world because sharpness is my god

8) I was going to post it but changed my mind 🙂

1. I really need to organize my photos! only after 4 years shooting I got a real real mess.

2. Try not to buy any more equipment.

3. Get a Bessa R with 35mm. 🙂

4. Get a MF RF Folder (Already borrowed super isolette to try it out)

5. Stop getting new equipment (except maybe some real bargains)

6. Shoot more MF

7. Not just take pictures, but do a specific photo project on a certain theme

If I'll fulfill these, it'll be a really good year.
