I don't see much related to model photo shoots so I thought I'd post a few behind the scenes shots and initial setup shots for anyone who might be interested in this kind of thing. These are mostly snap shot quality, intended just to capture the feel of being at the event. I'll try to post them in the order taken. Can only post 3 at at time so might divide into a few posts.

All taken with Leica SL, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 Art. We decided to use only the existing lighting and to forego any supplemental lights. So it made things a bit more difficult, but ultimately a more natural feel.

On first arriving at a local b&b. Light is very harsh, coming from just these large windows to a very bright, sunlit outside.

Deciding on wardrobe. We say to pick whatever they are most comfortable wearing.

changing. My friend and fellow photographer. Guess he figures he has to dress down to avoid showing up everyone else. He's really soooo amusing.

There is always the option to change in a private space but some people are just very comfortable

The beauty of the models is beyond any question and these are beautiful pictures. I find this genre of photography quite difficult, I would feel more comfortable photographing people in the streets (I think).

Thanks Pan. That's very interesting. Why difficult? Particularly when your subjects are wanting you to photograph them. I find it harder to photograph strangers on the streets without their permission. Always feels a bit voyeuristic, at least to me.
