I'm going to call it. The search is over. This camera does what I wanted with these lenses. The search for ultimate image quality, whatever that might be, is never-ending if you let it rule your photographic efforts. I choose to say "I'm done", stop here, and get on with advancing my photos.
Now here's a grin that makes me laugh out loud.

Godfrey, do you do much PP on the A7 shots. The output looks very organic and film like in this light.

Very little on this photo. From the Sony .ARW raw file in Lightroom 5.3, I cropped to 3:4 proportion to frame the vertical nicely, added .5EV on the exposure slider, and tweaked the Tone Curve with a very very gentle S shape. I also turned on chromatic aberration removal (not that I saw any in this photo in the first place, but it's a standard correction I use with this lens).
Overall, the A7 raw files are very very good, and easy to edit with only a few tweaks here and there if your exposure is on the money. It's an easy camera to get along with.
(In many ways, it's sensor behavior is very similar to the sensor in the Olympus E-M1. It's just 3.8x bigger area, and has 33% more, larger photosites. I have both cameras and find that the sensors behave very similarly. Biggest difference is in sharpening—the Olympus has no AA filtering, so I cut back on the default sharpening in LR to 11 or so on the scale @ .7 pixel, where the Sony A7 I run at the defaults.)
