I compose music ("classical"-genre chamber music, songs and choral stuff, mostly). I used to play the bassoon, but had to stop playing because of a carpal-tunnel type of injury.

I played saxophone and clarinet, then advanced to oboe and eventually to bassoon for a short time. I passed my instruments on to my kids and grandkids. As time passes, I don't believe that these old fingers would be able to produce much action, and, for sure, the lip is gone.

I play guitar and piano and in the past, violin, mandolin and banjo. Played in various bands and solo, but not for quite a long time now. Also, until recently had a home studio and have composed music for amateur productions of the Tempest and Macbeth. Now very much play for my own pleasure.

It is nice and interesting to discover so many music players!
I play flute and piccolo with the local windband: we will perform a concert in two weeks for the village patronal day, it will include a selection of Mozart's music, with the solo from the "Magic Flute" (I am quite excited!).

Electric guitar is my main instument but I also play a bit of bass, drums, harmonica, singing etc. I'm in a band at the moment, you could have a look at www.myspace.com/yozushi if you're interested. We do folk country, or something like that anyway!

Does talent count?
Former trombone player who looks over his left shoulder to see my horn on a stand ready to go. I have been playing again, casually, for the past 8 months or so, to show my son that it can be done and support his desires if they develop. I do it for fun, for myself, which is good.

I played drums in various local Jazz, country and rock bands for about 35 years.I also played symphonic percussion while in college. In the last few years of playing I expanded to keyboards as well. I built a couple different studios both in home and otherwise funded by writing and recording ad jingles and loops. I recorded a cd's worth of jazz/blues based music in my last home studio playing all the parts and doing all the vocals. I used an Ensonic sampling keyboard w/ 8 tracks sync'd to a four track reel to reel for the vocals. Later yet I used Cool Edit pro and did all the mixing directly to computer.
I still have all the gear to build a home studio again but haven't had the urge for several years.

Professional bass trombonist. Most of what I do is classical/orchestral stuff. I play with the Hamilton Philharmonic and Orchestra London both in Ontario. Early music gigs whenever they come along so I can play some sackbut. This weekend finds me in the pit for Lord of the Rings in Toronto. A few lucky gigs before they close in September. Woohoo!
