Gear Whore #1
Save the dates: Wednesday October 21st to Saturday October 24th.
Free el cheapo (free registration) is until August 21st.
Please someone who is hipper than me (57 year old man) post a link. I'm already registered and will be going on Saturday.
Like the Mermaid Parade I go early and leave early. Call me anti-social like my "Baby-Dog" who basically does not like other dogs (especially Pit Bulls), loud noises, lightning storms, fireworks, and most other people besides me and Maggie.

John,
10:00 AM is correct. I'll be there when the doors open. I hope to get out of there by lunchtime to avoid the crowds.
Cal
Thanks Cal. I'll be there at the open. I'm sure I'll see you around the floor.

I'd love to hear thoughts from anyone that visits the Plustek booth to check out the new 135 scanner.

John,
It seems that in the summer months Saturday's are weekly events at the BMX track in Highbridge.
My Ibis, although a mountain bike, is a lot like a BMX bike. I'll have my steel bike rigged out by next summer. Bought a new seat today and bid on some Ti handlebars.

Awesome... we gotta check it out. I'm the opposite of you... I make sure I have cruiser bikes that can't handle me doing anything stupid like jumping over doubles or making big drops or trying to bunny hop a garbage can. My days of that are over.

John,
If you are not almost out of control you are not racing, and all my bikes support performance.
Pretty much I remain young and dumb.

It hurts too much when I fall these days Cal.

John,
The adrenalin is addicting. If you race one is familiar with pain. My friend Eric who was a monster on a bike built swimming pools for a living mixing cement. Eric use to say, "Pain is just another feeling." LOL.
Performance bikes just kinda make you want to race and go fast.
Cal
Ok, we will see how it feels when you fall at your age Cal...
Have you fell recently? In all fairness though, it is fun. Remember I had my little bike accident where I split my head open and I wasn't even going fast or doing anything cool.

Went to Photo expo today and as always saw some nice stuff!

Some guy approached Louis Mendez outside of javits with a dslr, and wanted to take his picture. He was like; "you get one shot, you better get the exposure right".
Nothing too exciting at the expo, aside from the chunky Leica. It is pretty cool, but the grip on the S is still more comfortable. The body is big, but not big enough to balance that ridiculous zoom.
