Just a heads up PhotoPlusExpo this year is October 25th -28th.

I just got the E-mail blast, but the free registration for non-members is a dead link currently.

Really excited about this years Expo.

Just trying not to be like the world of fashion, meaning last minute.

I saw this tread and it worked like a reminder. I'm now registered.

I also kinda sent out an E-mail blast to people that I have their E-mail to annoy them. LOL.

I put two images I took of Maggie into the PDN fashion contest. The winners get announced in August. Could use the $3.5K Grand Prize. LOL. Also would be great to have these images shown in Photoville.

Nothing for me unless Leica comes out with the 35 Cron-SL.

I culled down my kit. It seems the Linhof's will be my main focus for a while as I concentrate more on film and medium format.

I don't mind doing some face-time and seeing what is going on. Pretty much I set with all the gear I need in retirement.

I can see and understand how precious your time is. I'm hoping to have some face time with you when you come, but if not I understand.

Just trying to keep you in the loop because it seems evident that a new photo district is currently emerging in Brooklyn and that be in Dumbo. Mucho advanced already from even last year. UPI now has a small gallery space on Main Street. I'd say it likely opened only earlier this year.

Also in the Dumbo "Gallery Guide" there are two big fine art galleries that are dedicated to photography only.

Also I have been busy. "Maggie's" blog is one thing, but I have been both gearing up and culling down. It seems Linhof Disease has become cronic. I'm gearing up to do mucho 70mm photography. Lately I have been testing Rollie 400S which I can buy in bulk in 70mm for "no money." Basically I can shoot medium format at about $2.00 a 120 equiv per roll.

Here is where "Calzone Factor" comes into play. I can load a CINE back with 15 feet of 70mm film for over 60+ 6x7 negatives. I have three 15 foot stainless steel 70mm reels. I have been testing film at this point to figure out a great cost effective way to maximize my shooting at the lowest costs. Pretty much I can shoot a Linhof like a Leica.

I kinda liking Rodinal 1:50 as a one shot. My Diafine gave me Bromide Drag. I'll be testing with Microphen to try and get some film speed. With Rodinal I only get 50 ISO but the negatives look like large format in detail, sharpness and tonality. I also need to get a film speed over 100 ISO to fully exploit this film. I'm hoping Microphen could give me the film speed I need to make my plan work.

Anyways I'm reinventing myself. Also know that with all of "Maggie's" traveling I have been able to develop at home more. Seems like I am less restrained.

It seems like I'm moving forward with making a coffee table book.

Thanks for the link.

Wanted to let you know that I now have a decade of shooting a changing New York that spans 2007 (the housing bubble) till 2017. I feel that I have a complete body of work at this point that finally seems to be about gentrification and displacement. I believe I documented history, and I'm at a point of evolving into something new.

I feel like a short-timer because I can feel my time in NYC is likely limited. I need studio space and a darkroom. Pretty unlikely that is going to happen in NYC.

That's great Cal. It's good to find an end to a project. Mine was more like 2008-2016, but I'm ok. I've moved on to a less photographed city. I'll edit the NYC stuff in a few years... when I'm less attached to it.

I believe that time is the best editor. I know one day you will be rewarded for shooting a lot. I know at this point I did a very wise thing to concentrate on making negatives with a total disregard to printing. I know I annoyed people, but film was about half the cost that it is today.

Pretty much I have a huge mess to sort through that might need the rest of my life to complete. I'm sure the gloomy weather is no worse than spending a lot of time in the darkroom without much light. I remember spending an entire weekend in a darkroom when I was in college, and the only thing that bothered me was coming out into bright daylight.

Not all the weather in Seattle is gloomy. They enjoy long summer days where it gets dark around 10 PM. Also the mornings are cool and the heat only builds up in the late afternoon. The winters are mild... I will be going back in a few months to see the other side of the climate.

The homelessness is bad in Seattle, is kinda like in Portland, but is very different than NYC.

Also know that shooting in Seattle will be very different than NYC. I feel a change in style is happening/beginning.

As per Joe's suggestion/request I will edit/update the first post of this thread with the date time and location of the September Meet-Up so that people can be a lazy slacker like me and not have to read through this entire thread to data mine the information.

Really interesting seeing people being able to borrow a Leica from the Leica booth at Photoville for an hour and a half with just a photo I.D.

I'm thinking of copying Louis Mendez and adopting a Fuji Instax wide into a Polaroid back for my baby Linhof's. On the prototype Louis showed me he has no darkslide, there is a cell phone battery for power, and an on off switch.

The Instax wide camera only is $88.00 at B&H. Twin packs of film for 20 exposures is $15.99.

This is a bump.
