Photos Big Waves Nazaré Portugal

Got back from Nazaré Portugal this past Saturday. I went there for vacation and to photograph the big waves - they can get to over 80 feet. They were around 30 plus feet while I was there. Will have to go back someday.

Sigma lent me their new 60-600mm zoom, which I mounted to my Nikon D850 and shot large raw files. The Dehaze slider in raw conversion was a huge help. Great lens. Should have tried to get the 1.4 teleconverter with it.

The thought of riding such waves would fill me with terror! However I much enjoy looking at photos and videos of those brave enough to take on the ocean's monsters. Nice photos Dan.

I lived in Portugal at one time, on the south coast. I visited Nasaré once, but I didn't see anything like this, nor did I know about it.
