Ok. I got the 35/2 Biogon yesterday and what can I say...? It's awesome. Contrast and sharpness all over the place. Here are some samples with Tri-x from today. Also, for all but one, I was using a Marumi circular PL as a 2 stop cut (gimme depth of field!!).

Sorry, I cant seem to link the pictures properly from flickr. I uploaded them, but they are small. To see the real deal, click on my flickr link.

hey hey hey, there is something I never thought about, using a cpl to cut times and enjoy out of focus areas. I should try that with my gsn

ps those are some nice looking shots, I really like the clinical look, its very pretty....

Thanks for the comments guys. I would ideally like a whole bunch of filters, but the 43mm thread size is so uncommon that it's hard to turn up anything beyond a UV or a CPL.

When I was at the camera store yesterday, I tried a couple of different lenses, but they all felt too small in my hands. The Biogon's build quality and feel is really nice.

Anyone else go some recent examples from this lens?

Lovely pictures. The more I see of these Zeiss lenses the more I think I should indulge myself...they look great value

Wow. That's one scary camera. Do you do a lot of candids then?

Oh yea! Well my mom used to keep a CPL in the fridge and give it to me as a teething ring. :p
Haw. I used to eat Royal X pan for breakfast cereal ... without milk, just Amidol to wash it down.

Love your red M3. I have a red a la carte MP in chrome and love the look. My wife says it's my fashion statement.

Man I love the Biogon! I've been shooting in a strip mine, coal mine, and have been absolutely delighted with the rendering of the Biogon. Everything is black on black and the tonality and rendering of texture is amazing. In the near future I'll post some of the new images. printed as 14 inch prints it's hard to tell these images weren't shot with MF.

There are tonnes of filters available! Try BH Photovideo and get some colored B&W filters. I have UV, orange and yellow from them.

X-ray, please do show some images. My biogon I know to be a great performer from viewing negs on the lightbox but cannot make prints; its so frustrating (my scanner is bust too). I find the eveness of resolution across the frame just astounding. I have not shot mine at f2 yet, so I dont know what it delivers wide open, but from 2.8 onwards I know it to be superb.

Have you done much shooting wide open?
