Photos from your Nikkormat.

Nikkormat FTn, Nikkor H Auto 50mm f/2, TriX.

What became of her I really don't know, but she was a promising artist in the early seventies.

I cannot find that thread either. What a shame, it was great.

I wish that I had something to offer this latest thread but I don't.

Keep posting Eric!

Simon

This is the German photographer Hannes Wallrafen who lives in The Netherlands and who became blind eight years ago. I knew him quite well in the early seventies when he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.

Personally if you really want a Nikkormat then I'd go for the FT3. They are all pretty indistructable however the auto AI is handy. The only thing I've had with a couple was slow mirrors but I've had an F2 like that so it's just an age thing. A quick service and it's good to go for another 30 years.
I gave up on them after I got F and F2's as the viewfinder was too dim in comparison. They are an ideal budget film camera for someone who still wants to shoot film and not worry about dropping, forgeting or getting their camera stolen. I've bought a few for less than 50 euro. Cheapest I bought was an FT2 with a K 50 for 15! It worked superbly.

can anything be done to make the FT3 brighter? do fm2 screens fit? etc ?

Thank you Joe and TenesseJones!

I've never seen that the screens of the Nikkormat are more dim than those of the F or F2. The screens are superb, especially those of the Nikkormat EL.
One of the features of the FTn I like is how the shutter speed is indicated in the viewfinder.

Very, very, very nice work Erik.

Since 2012 I'm the happy owner of a mint chrome FTn which came as a free rear cap for the equally mint Nikkor-O 35/2 lens I bought off eBay for $65...

Lately I cleaned it all and replaced all the foams, installed a NOS 625PX battery I still had somewhere, fitted it with an AN-1 strap, and now I begin to use it on a regular basis with some real joy in spite of the shutter loudness.

Erik, all those photos shot in (I assume) Spain back in the 1970's are fantastic.

Really.

Photographic simplicity and emotional masterworks.
