You need to open the back and remove the pressure plate. That will allow you to remove the pin that holds the shutter re-cocking mechanism in place. Be sure to store this in a safe place, because I seem to lose them all the time! At that point I recommend splashing a strong dose of your favorite inebriant in the film loading chamber before sealing the whole thing a chicken roasting bag and baking for and hour and a half at 450 degrees.

I assume you wonder how to check how many shots have been taken with your Xpan...
On the back, press AEB and rotate the mode dial on S, it will be displayed on the back screen. You have to multiply the number x10 for the total number of frames shot.
By the way, you have an impressive website, I really like your street photos with the Xpan (actually those photos are one of the primary reasons that pushed me into buying an Xpan!).

some OT here, i would like to know how to check the shutter count for Xpan II, the idea doesnt seems work with my xpan2, mind to clarify more details ? i'm new to this cam, thanks !
