No no no no no. This is a fake. 100%. We've been over this hundreds of times before. This was done by a fan on a japanese website, it is not real, its fake fake fake.

While the real M9, if ever to be created might be in a somewhat similar fasion, this is definately 100% a fake. It's been posted on these forums hundreds of time.

Actually it is interesting to see how things spread on the internet. That sketch and the one of the more traditional design I made have recently shown up on several websites, chat forums and who knows what else. More often than not in languages that I do not understand.

It's a little like standing on your balcony and watching a car accident occur off in the distance.

m9 and son of m9? hmm..the shutter dial + notch at the top is pretty consistent with the teaser video..

and judging by the strap lugs, the new digi compact seems quite small..

I'm putting my money on a fixed lens RF for the "advanced amateur" market. a lot of people buy an M8 and RD-1 purely for the Leica mystique and wanting to try a rangefinder or simply play around with it. I think a relatively budget priced fixed lens RF similar to a Canonet QL17 would do pretty well for Leica. Something with a 45mm f2.5 equivalent lens would be great. And if they threw a 1.5x crop sensor in there it would be all the more achievable.

I don't agree. I have seen all those pamphlets on the New Olympus Pen - interchangeable lenses, marketed right at a sophisticated public who demand better quality than those credit-card camera's.
And well, if we have them hanging around, why not use then on another body?
Well, in fact, why not make LTM flange as well?
