maybe i was too busy working behind the scenes trying to help the buyers of the non exisitent rd1 get in touch with the seller.

Yes! Most definitely. It's a great combination, actually--the 50 is portrait length on this camera, of course, and the shallow DOF makes a very nice portrait.
