Photos off the first roll

Just a few of what I believe to be the better shots from the roll.
This is the first roll I have shot through the Bessa R3M with the Nokton 40mm.
Not sure on the quality of some of the shots, not sure if its the film, developing or the scanning that was done. Film is Ilford Pan 400 and not sure on what the developing and scanning equipment that was used.
Some of the shots I like but some seem over exposed, overly grainy and very vintage looking.

Nicely composed! I like your style of shooting -- maybe because it's similar to my own.

BTW yes, I'd agree -- they look a tad over-exposed. Hmm. But otherwise they're good shots.

One more thing -- you could compensate for the over-exposure by importing the scans into a photo editing program (Adobe, Aperture, whatever) and adjust the levels a bit, that would probably help.

Yeah a few of the shots where after some heavy rain and flooding, got to love coastal towns.

Process your own film. Labs always over-process film to make sure it comes out.

They're very nice...

I don't find them overexposed. But a few of them (those including direct sun / higher scene's contrast) are overdeveloped, so they're a bit burnt... Those with softer light are great!

If you want to keep shooting hard and soft lights on the same roll (same development), you can give less exposure to the sunny scenes to save highlights: you'll just lose shadows, and that can look fine sometimes... Doing it that way is nicer than using a shorter development time for all scenes... You have great punch on your soft light scenes! I guess the lab did a good job as it's a lot more usual shooting under soft light than on direct sun...The first shot is very good.
