Photos taken with the Nikkor 8.5cm PC f2 lens.

Just running through the 24 rolls I took in a week in Iceland. The 8.5cm was third lens. First was 3.5cm f1.8 glued to the S3 Olympic, second the CV 21mm f4 on the Bessa R2S with the 8.5cm in the bag for the Bessa which has the frame lines built in so no finder to loose.
Shot least on the 8.5cm but when needed it delivered:

Awesome photos. I purchased the chrome lens to have an 90mm equivalent for my M7. I haven't shot anything yet, but now I might have to.

Great photos everyone! It's nice to see 50's glass still being used.

I have the 85mm black that I use with my SP. And I have the black 105mm 'C' that I use with my Contax IIa. The danged Nikon 10.5 cm BL finder cost almost as much as the 105mm did!

The last repair that Pete Smith did for me was he serviced my 85mm that was a bit stiff to focus. He made it work like it came from the factory. May he rest in peace!

My son watching his favorite show on a Saturday morning. There is a sheet of ice from last night's freezing rain so we are not in a rush to go out and play!

Just realized my 85/2 has a C on the barrel

Just realized my 85/2 has a C on the barrel

I don't know why I did not notice this sooner :bang: I've been shooting with this lens a few times and results were very sharp. I was not, however, doing portrait work or shooting near the minimal focal distance. Landscapes were usually the setting, often at infinity distance.

Is the focus issue serious enough to NOT use the Contax version of this lens on my Nikon RF cameras? Appreciate anyone sharing their experience with this mismatch, if they did what I did:roll eyes: Geez....

while not as fast as an f/1.4 I find it sufficient enough. Really good lens :eek::eek:

the bokeh is a bit busy but what can I expect from a 70-yr old lens. The only thing I hate is the aperture ring but that can be fixed with a Sharpie marker

This lens is fantastic when I shoot it on my Sony mirrorless, using the Amedeo adapter. But this one however is with my S2, on Ilford delta 100:

I find this lens quite spectacular in performance regardless of its age
