Rob, the old analog photographer adrift in a sea of computer confusion, is back. I tried to load my Photoshop Elements 2 onto my iMac and MacBook. At first it looks like it's going to work. The flowery Elements 2 logo shows up on the dock, happily bouncing up and down. There is something to click on for installation. But then I got a message, "You are not logged in as an administrator."
Fine. That should be easy to solve. I packed the iMac and the Macbook into the car and hauled them both down to the Apple store for a "Genius" consult. In 10 minutes flat, I was told the program is too old, it is not compatible with OS X Snow Leopard. Same way for Elements 3.
Fine. I can take it. Back home, I summoned up Amazon and found I could buy Elements 8 for $77.00. Not bad. Then I read the reviews Amazon posts. Several people said they didn't like elements 8. Too different from earlier versions. I could sympathize, I don't even like the changes from elements 2 to 3. They made it more complicated. i like simple.
So now I'm wondering, what is the very earliest version of Elements that will actually run on OS X Snow Leopard? I see I can buy various versions of Elements on eBay, such as 4 and 6; but don't know which version to shoot for.
The main thing I want from Elements is the perspective correction feature. I can do most everything else, and probably do it better, within Aperture.
Thanks fo any words of advice!
