i love the 1.5 shot!
i much prefer it to any of the others, the colour differences don't bother me as i shoot b&w but i love the 'look' of that 1.5.
i have to shoot more with that lens.

A good job you are geting the LTM adapter then
I must admit, I like the 1.5 too. If I want crisp and clean, I have the Pentax's. The 1.5 is what RF photography is all about to me, more of an artists tool rather than a recording instrument. I have a 1.2 on the way and I suspect that the 1.4 will get little use after that and may go to fund a 28.

Besides which, you will need to use it for the comp!

my 50/1.2 should be shipping out in a day or so and i'm thinking similar thoughts.
50 to me is not my normal lens. i leave that to the 35's, but i think a 50 with 'attitude' or a different 'look' is what it's all about when it comes to 50's.

What's the problem, donate the camera to the second place person if you really want.
Hang on, it might all have been a complcated plot to keep you out of the comp so others would have had a chance

Thanks RayPA, that gives me a better idea.
The Nokton is certainly not in danger of being called petite

That J-3 is looking pretty good there, Kim. Mine was sharper than my Canon 50/1.4 as well. (and the 50/1.5, but don't tell Joe)

May I get noticed when you decide to part with the 1.4 ?
I need something to replace (Joe's) 1.2

I am almost sorry I parted with both of the J3's. (They were as new.) Well not really, they have both gone where they will get a lot of use and Yhere is such a thing as too many 50's
All I have to do now is add the results from the J8, I61, I61 L/D, I26 and Canon 1.8. I also ran the J9 and the Canon 85/1.9 at the same time. Watch out on the optics section.

I don't wonder that the J-3 is a good lens (basic Carl Zeiss Sonnar copy) but wht is about focussing on a non-Russian camera?
It was alway my feel that the 1.5/50 is a sharp lens, and has a warm tone. Even my is a later type with the yellow-brown coating. The older ones with blue coating must produce even warmer colors.
Reg. the VL Nokton, it looks that this lens isn't sharper wide oipen than the other, and shows stronger light-falloff. Could that be?
Great comparison, Kim. You cured me in my ambition on the Canon 1.4/50 for the next time...
cheers, Frank
