Pics from my Mamiya Super 23

One thing that I am not sure of is: in the above mentioned post, I am not sure if you should not set the third step at one meter or three point five feet instead of the, recommend five to fifteen feet. I still have not worked it out but I might update later, maybe much later.

How close can you focus with that 100mm?

As I recall, to get any focus closer than 5 feet you need the macro tube set. It's a set of tubes of progressive sizes that mount together to make a total tube length of about six inches. Five (5) pieces for a complete set. Often found with the box. Fits all the Mamiya Press... 23, super 23 and Universal. Not the Polaroid 600SE.

There was a set on eBay three days ago, and they pop up regularly. Generally sell for around $100. They are almost always near mint, as they see little use. They are all bayonet mount so you can use them individually between the lens and body. It takes two... the shortest one for the body bayonet and variations of the others to achieve the lens mount, and desired focal length.

Bought myself a faulty 100/2.8 last week for USD70. The aperture seems stuck and fixed at 2.8. Shot one test roll of Ektacolor 160 wide open before sending it for repair.

Looks sharp anyway. I think you will enjoy using it when you get it back. I used to crave that lens, but realizing it wasn't that much more than my f/3.5 I finally "cured" my GAS for that lens. Some think iit has a look they like over the f/3.5. It will be interesting to get your feedback on that when you get to use it again.
 
Good for you on finding the 100/2.8.
In your place, I'd also pay for it's repair.
As you can see, that is an exceptional lens, worth keeping.
 
Pick up the 100/2.8 today from the shop. They did a tremendous job , everything looks fine. Quickly ran a roll through it.

I think the normal use is to swing the other way and get all in focus, isn't it?

Glad you are enjoying your Super Press 23. They are a great camera. Did you buy the cut sheet film or cut it down from another format?

I'm still learning how the tilt/swing bellow works. I managed to get 2 boxes of cut sheet film in UK.
 
The images look great. One of my selling errors was selling such a camera and lens for twice of what I paid for. I paid $25 for it!
 
Interesting, which back do you use, and how do you develop the film? drums or trays?
With the bellow tilted, you need the groundglass back to focus. I managed to insert the sheet film into the 4X5 JOBO reel and processed with the JOBO CPE-2.
