pics of your zeiss ikon...

Bnack is dead on on the zm/gtn comparisson. I keep getting very pleasantly surprised by GTN's mettering, the only downside is the VF, there the ZM is on a whole different level. I also like that the ZM is lighter, but your opinion may differ.

this is a photo where I got pleasently surprised by the output of the gtn. not posting directly because it is not really relevant to the thread.

back alley,

What kind of grip is that on your Zeiss Ikon? I have Zeiss Ikon leather case, will it also fit over the halfcase? Now if someone would make a vertical grip for Zeiss Ikon.

it's the older style grip made by photoequip, you can sometimes find them here or on ebay.
but i now use the zeiss grip on my zi, a little smaller, rounder and lighter.
i like both.

Hi gang!

Got very crappy 4 photos of my Ikon with the Luigi's half case, and the nokton 35 1.4 SC:

again, sorry for the crappiness of the quality

you left it turned on 😀
That's something I tend to forget for a MP user 😀

Ps.: what do you think of it in comparison with the leica mp?

I think both are nice camera. The AE mode in ZI is very convenience and especially on the street. I'm surprised when I try to hold the ZI body the first time, as it's very light compare to MP. Almost make me feel it's a toy. However, after attached a lens definitely change the "weight" feeling.

I like the viewfinder which is very bright and large:

The shutter sound is not any louder than a Leica in practical term. Signature is different, of course, but not noticeable in the street.

Is this the Zeiss brand case ( https://photo-shop.zeiss.com/en/Products/1438-602 )?Their website has no pictures of it open. Could someone who has the Zeiss case post some more photos of it (including the rear)?

The bottom half of the Bessa case fits, but it's a bit of a stretch and brown + black + silver doesn't look too great (though on the black Ikon brown looks fine). I've heard great things about the Luigi cases, but the grainy leather and curvy lines don't really match the angular style of the Ikon.

Such a beautiful piece isn't it?

I got it with the nokton 35 1.4 sc. I had some doubts about taking the zm 2.0 instead, but the nokton is smaller, cheaper and, as matt said, it goes to 1.4 , which is something i know i'm going to use.

So happy!!

dSLRs just don't have the same sex appeal...

Agree 100% and another one waiting to post his ZI here... 😀
Just a question... I heard that sometimes lens hood can interfere with the viewfinder.. is that the case for the ZM 35/2? Despite my usual preference for the 28 mm focal lenght, I'm reconsidering the 35 mm as a better framing inside the viewfinder (more space around the lines = more time to compose the image)

Dino,

Yes, the hood of the ZM 35/2 does intrude into the 35mm frame lines on the bottom right corner. It is a vented hood, so the obstruction is mainly just a black curved line with a minimal fully black bit in the very end of the corner. I don't find it to be a problem at all, but YMMV.
