I've had mine for a few weeks and already shot a few rolls with it, but its lens shade just arrived this week so it can finally pose for its portrait without tipping forward.
Here it is:

The first one with near focus is very cool.
I thought I wanted a silver Ikon but looking through images here I have changed my mind and want a black one. Or maybe one of each

hmmm - I'd really like a black one with a 35, f2 or f2.8 depending on how much difference it makes in finder intrusion - anybody have any first hand experience with that? I saw the 35 f2 and 2.8 in stores not too far from my place but didn't put it on a body at the time (self preservation
)..

Tensai, just get a small lens and don't worry about seeing it at all in the finder
I don't think i could see my (new to me) CV 35/1.4 Nokton through the finder if i tried.
The lens also balances PERFECTLY on the Ikon.

Thanks for the thoughts.
I read up a bit on the 35 f2.8 and it definitely seems like the lens for me. I have to think about it though, I know I'd love it, but also that I don't need it.
Cheers

Hi all;
I want to say thanks to everyone who has posted here, and all of the great information in the forum as a whole: it was tremendously helpful when I was shopping, and then again while I was enduring the long, long wait.
I've had the camera for slightly over two days, and just dropped off four rolls of film for processing. Fingers crossed....

Wow! Your lens serial number ***0008. One of the pioneer Sonnar probably : )

Well, maybe not; I removed the last digit for the sake of modesty. The serial number's not quite as low as it looks.

I had the big camera out and pointed at the Ikon again yesterday. Here are a couple more images of my new beloved:

Alright don't laugh too hard, but here is my family portrait with names to identify them.
We have: Big Brother (Sigma SD15), Ditto (Canon T2i), Zak (Zeiss Ikon), and The Monocle (Fuji Klasse W [he likes to be unique and use The as part of his name])
