Pictures from Canon LTM 35mm f:2, please

Great work as always, Chris, I like this juice box vending machine best. Do you do some kind of toning, or is it just my eyes?

Great examples, Dourbalistar! I also have the 35/2 on my M5--it's great!

I just found a great deal on a Zeiss 35/2.8 ZM so I excited to compare it to the Canon.

Thank you, twvancamp! I generally prefer 50mm, but I do like the little Canon 35/2. A bit comical mounted on the portly M5, but it does make for a slimmer carry front to back. I've never used any ZM lenses, but that should be an interesting comparison, vintage vs. modern. 🙂

I used to have the ZM 35mm f2.8 C-Biogon. It was INCREDIBLY sharp. Sharper than any 35mm lens I have used, including the 35mm version IV Summicron and the 35mm f2 Canon.

BUT, I did not like the images it made. They were extremely harsh and high in contrast and the lens had a lot of vignetting at wider apertures, and even stopped down, it had some.

There are a few of the better ones I made with it. The contrast could be tamed by reduced developing time, but that has issues, too. Because none of my other lenses were so contrasty, I could not use that lens and any other on the same roll. Also, reducing developing time lowers your effective film speed, which is a disadvantage at times.

I like those shots, Chris! Your thread on the 35/2.8 ZM is great and partly what inspired me to give it a try. I tend to go for contrasty BW, so I'm hoping it works for me. If nothing else, it's the newest lens I've ever owned and I think it will be fun to try.

Don't think I'll be letting go of the Canon however. I had it CLAd last year and it really is a gem.

I was looking for filters and hoods for a Canon 35mm f.2, given the difficulty where I can find a step up ring 40mm to 40.5mm
Thank you

Seller "heavystar" on the big auction site has a metal step-up ring from 40mm to 40.5mm. Alternatively, the Fuji makes (made?) a hood for its X10 and X20 cameras. It's a vented hood that's threaded to take 52mm filters.
