These are all taken in Helsinki/Finland in a part of town which is probably the ugliest place in the whole Finland. It's called Merihaka.

I have a 21mm CV viewfinder for that.

Markus these are good! Having visited and admired Helsinki I actually didn't think Merihaka was that bad. When I think of melancholia the adagio in the Sibelius violin concerto and the spare countryside comes to mind...

I have the 40mm only at present but the 15mm is my next lens for sure. I have a 21mm v/f from my Ricoh GRD that should do nicely.

I just had a look at your blog. The image infront of the window, while done to death, is perfectly produced.

For this type of photography you show us that the RD1 is perfect.

I love your term 'photowalking'. I did some yesterday in a very different place to bleak (but beautiful in its own way) Merihaka. I drove to a little town near me to visit my brother who works in an old pub there. No grey skys there, just green and blue. I'll post some later.

I sometimes add vignette to photos but with 15mm Heliar there is no need for that. "Dont turn left" was actually shot with 35mm Color Skopar which I had in loan for a while. The natural vignette in "Hanasaari" is somewhat emphasized by the post processing all though I didn’t add vignette to that either. This is probably a more typical example of the 15mm Heliar vignette on R-D1
