These are all taken in Helsinki/Finland in a part of town which is probably the ugliest place in the whole Finland. It's called Merihaka.

Markus, great images. Perhaps not the most attractive place to live, but the images of Merihaka are really captivating. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to see more.

Which frame line do you use with the 15 mm Hellar?

I have a 21mm CV viewfinder for that.

Markus these are good! Having visited and admired Helsinki I actually didn't think Merihaka was that bad. When I think of melancholia the adagio in the Sibelius violin concerto and the spare countryside comes to mind...

Markus, nice photos and thanks for sharing. Is the strong corner vigneting at for example "Hanasaari" or "Dont turn left" the standard result with the Heliar 15mm, or you forced it some way??

Wonderful captures, Marcus. Beautifully framed. Thanks for sharing those with us. I like to sit and let the patterns and tones take over. Well done.
I have the 40mm only at present but the 15mm is my next lens for sure. I have a 21mm v/f from my Ricoh GRD that should do nicely.
I just had a look at your blog. The image infront of the window, while done to death, is perfectly produced.
For this type of photography you show us that the RD1 is perfect.
I love your term 'photowalking'. I did some yesterday in a very different place to bleak (but beautiful in its own way) Merihaka. I drove to a little town near me to visit my brother who works in an old pub there. No grey skys there, just green and blue. I'll post some later.
Cheers,
John

Thank you for your comments.
I sometimes add vignette to photos but with 15mm Heliar there is no need for that. "Dont turn left" was actually shot with 35mm Color Skopar which I had in loan for a while. The natural vignette in "Hanasaari" is somewhat emphasized by the post processing all though I didn’t add vignette to that either. This is probably a more typical example of the 15mm Heliar vignette on R-D1msendin said:Is the strong corner vigneting at for example "Hanasaari" or "Dont turn left" the standard result with the Heliar 15mm, or you forced it some way??

Great photos, nice angles, great colours. Went to your home page and was particularly struck by the picture of the dog - great crispness, colours and contrast.
