California (Bay Area, Northern) Pier 24 August 30th

Hey guys, I'm in Key West now and I just realized the top plate of my m6ttl is loose. After talking to Sherry K. yesterday and listening to her lecture me on using foam to absorb the vibrations from all the planes, buses, trains etc, that I go on....well, my question is, does anybody know a place in S.F. that can fix it.....or do any of you guys have the proper tools (spanner wrench) that I could use.....it's a quick fix in Bangkok, but it be nice to be able to get it tightened up in S.F. If I could....

Cheers, michael

Michael,
If the meet-up with Roland falls through, or you can't find another repair solution, I'd be happy to bring along my trusty roll of black gaffer's tape.

BTW, I know not to leave my camera on the floor of planes, buses, etc....my domke is always on my lap when I'm traveling, but Sherry told me that's not good enough and I need to wrap the camera in foam....I think this is like the 3rd or 4th time that this has happened to me....

I'm going to include foam in my bag next time I travel, great info.

Your back. Did you get your back shaved this time? Just pay the premium all the beauticians request and get it done. I did.

Rich, I did get my back done, but just vertical stripes. I stay cooler that way since it encourages convection cell development that draw air up and out near my neck. You can put your hand near my collar and you can feel the warm moist currents coming out. Periodically, on really warm days, an El Niño event develops near my right shoulder blade and the right-side convection cells reverse direction. I have to move my wallet to my left-side on those days.

Michael, if my spanners are where I left them, I'll bring them the 30th and email you and the Iron Rider (Roland) to coordinate.

Darn it. Shoud have talked to you before I got mine done. :bang:

My moist currents get trapped.

Mike- I think you mentioned that they're in the same drawer as your Bea Arthur inflatable friend.

Looking like a good turnout on the 30th, 1 short of the max (20) for our time slot.

Is the plan to dress up or down for this outing?

That sounds good, looking forward to seeing you again Mike and meeting the rest of the guys and gals......

cheers, michael

BTW, as far as dress goes, jeans and a shirt (probably a sweater too) works for me

A couple of us are grabbing food and beverage at the Ferry Building, around 12:30-1:00. If you can get out of work early, we'll probably meet up at Gotts.

Mike is treating BTW!

Note: For those driving in the parking lot by Red's is closed.

Today things are blowing up at work. Fires flaring up all around me. Until 5 minutes ago I had fantasies of actually just ducking out of here but realitty has it and it's just not possible. After looking forward to this for so long I am seriously bummed out. I hope you're all having a good time.

My M2 and 40/2 Summicron are sitting at my desk staring at me with shame .

Sorry to have missed this gathering, but I couldn't get away from work and down to SF. Pier 24 will have to wait for another day for me.

Sorry to miss Mike's bikini wax, too... :D

Great to meet Michael and see some of the RFF regulars today. It was also great to see our lovely Pier 24 docents again...

Missed seeing some of you who couldn't make it today. Make sure you check out the show, excellent.
