Piezotone Ink System

Anyone here using the piezotone ink system with one of the following printers?

Epson 1280
Epson 2200
Epson 1800

I have questions.....

I ended up with the R1800, so your experience should be directly applicable...lucky that.
I'm really just interested in general use information. I've had so many problems (with other printers and products) with printer alignment/head cleaning/bad carts/failed refills, etc...that I begin to question my competency when it comes to aftermarket inks and carts.
Perhaps I'm only smart enough to use the manufacturer's inks...
Anyway, how easy/reliable do you find the system to be?
Do you buy their carts, refill, or use a CIS?
How many prints do you get before you have to address some problem or other?

Do you just buy the cone inks in their standard carts, or do you refill?
They claim that the new piezotone inks don't require purging when changing back and forth with the regular Epson inks. Have you found this to be true?
