One of the advantages of the internet to photographers are websites that offer instruction. Of course, there are good ones and bad ones. I thought we might pool our experiences and come up with websites that have passed muster for one of us (at least) and might be of use to the rest of us.

My recommendation would be Phlearn, a site that provides consistently clear and understandable Photoshop instruction. They have a website and charge for courses in Photoshop which may well be worthwhile. But they also release single lessons on YouTube for free.

This little piggy has gotten a lot of use out of the free videos and would like to pig up on any instructional web sites you would recommend.

Most of the answers have been specialized Photoshop/LR tips 'n tricks. But if you have to walk on the wild side, and do video, good audio is vital, but a steep climb. I've found Curtis Judd's material really helpful, both for introduction to the systems needed and for price/function/quality tradeoffs to keep things reasonable. See https://www.learnlightandsound.com/ . The one person still/video operation may become the PJ answer to the ubiquitous but crappy cellphone.

Here’s one of my favorite websites that also deals with video. Like many professional photographers, Kirk Tuck has added moving images to his work. And, guess what? So have a lot of non professional photographers documenting their families and travel. He’s added a lot of moving images to his work including commercial web pieces that blend what we oldsters aptly call “movie” and “stills.” I check into his site everyday. It’s one of the few sites that I truly learn from.

I agree wholeheartedly about Kirk Tuck, an old friend from the University of Texas photography classes, who has the uncanny ability to write about his practical approach to gear and photography processes in ways that will benefit serious photographers and videographers.

I learn from on line and bookmark. My bookmark list is way to long.

Library is great help, say Martin Evening. If I like it, I buy the book.
