Cool! I have suspected that paganism = christianity with gender roles reversed.

The Basques were only Christianised quite recently (historically speaking) and many pagan rituals remain.
Ex: Young couples get married in church, but then climb the mountain in order to rub their genitals against a menhir/standing stone, to help with fertility!![]()
You mean they are still doing this?
wow

Yes sure!
(Can't wait for next Monday!!!)
I've been there some times ago during a trip in Spain..
That's kind of surprising how there is a Celtic zone that runs all over the Europe with no boundaries: starting in Spain from Galizia to the Pais Basco and then in Normandie and Bretagne, south of England, Ireland..

So.. where are the photos?
Actually, I guess it wouldn't qualify as 'street' so it's not in vogue right now

The Celtic link is quite interesting as it features in the music as well. There is a Basque group called Milladoiro who might be confused with an Irish ceilidh group. Probably after a few pints of Guiness or Jameson (or the Basque equivalent) they probably are! Fornicating in the forest or elsewhere is not an exclusively pagan rite surely, but as we say in Strine: "cop you later".

Pitxu--nice!! Obviously worn out after a bachannelle in the forest---
So two questions--you've no doubt answered before--where did the name Pitxu come from--and where is Euskal Herris? Please forgive the geographic ignorance..

Pitxu is a person from Basque mythology.
Euskal Herria is The Basque Country, it is no longer an independant state and is actualy cut in two by the modern French/Spanish border on the Atlantic coast.
The Basque also discovered the new world while cod fishing too correct?

Pixtu, congratulations on having your existence both within and without photography under the microscope, and being able to maintain a sense of equilibrium. Your last portrait though makes me realise that my kids have long grown up and no longer have nightmares! Suerte!

Don't forget Wales
I've lived here for over 50 years so perhaps I could qulify as a Celt, but then as my surname is Murphy I am pretty sure that I do.
BTW Richard,I recall that you told me that you hailed from Cymru--have you also Welsh in your armoury of fluencies.
Edit--To my shame I have no real use of the Welsh language myself, but to the nation's credit it's use is much encouraged.
Cheers,
Brian.

This post is inflammitory. Pitxu don't lend it legitimacy by responding. Every thinking person understands that a nation can be defined by its culture, traditions, and people, and does not need a Wikipedia entry to exist.

Now let's go back to Pitxu's avatars.

Actually, a green filter is the best filter for flesh tones and lips... which is also recommended by portraitists.

I do like the green filter effect. I'm off to try it on the missus. I'll see if she's up for a bit of fun in the woods this weekend too!

FWIW, Milladoiro are Galician, not Basque

(Sorry if this was pointed out earlier in the thread, I've checked but might have missed it).
