Hello all, I'd like to ask if anyone can please point me to somewhere I can buy small screw-together plastic filter cases, mainly for 30mm push on filters?

I've got 6 filters that ain't got any little cases, but I don't want any of the 'multi-slotted filter pocket folder' things.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I realise this may not be the right place for this post, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to shove it. I did consider the 'Want To Buy' bit, but I thought the amount I'd be spending would be a bit low to justify that.

Find a brick and morter store. They usually have lots of used filters for a few bucks each. They usually come with those kind of cases. Most newer cases I've seen are slide-out type, that don't accommodate filters of a different size or style other than the one they are intended for.

If you lack a "way back" machine to aid in finding a brick-and-mortar camera store, you should check out craft stores selling supplies for DIY jewelry.

Ignoring that it's a lens filter to be stored, googling "screw top small plastic container" suggests many different options, none of which are officially a filter case yet may well work for what you want...

Kenko makes plastic filter cases...

Shown below are the hard plastic type, but you can also find soft plastic versions... it's an off the shelf item here, not sure of the situation in your location.

Edit: I believe the cases are available in different depths to accommodate thin / thick filters...

These particular ones look pretty good for "regular" filters. Certainly, the price is right: US $2.77 for three. I might need to get some of these.

Thanks for all the replies and the links and suggestions.

I've been to an S/H camera shop and looked through their filter drawers but all the filters they have in these plastic cases are too big or too small for them to screw into any of the filter stacks they have and I don't want to buy the filters to get the cases and throw away the filters and I don't want to leave them with diglne filters slopping about in the drawers risking getting scratched.

Them 'stackable' filter cases seems alright but the pockets in the bag I'd put them in may not be quite big enough. I'll have to do some measuring etc.

The same goes for the kenko cases. I'll have find them in an enlgish language version of their site so that I can check what size they go down to.

Things aren't looking as hopeless as I thought they were.

seany65 -if you scroll down a tad on the Kenko site - there's a row of filter cases and the different sizes are given (e.g. 62-67, etc.)

@Shac: So I noticed when I clicked on the link yesterday, but I wanted to find out if they go smaller as the filters I'm buying them for are 30mm, and I wouldn't want them rattling about in the cases (even though they probably would get scratched). On top of that, the bag I'd be putting them in probably wouldn't have enough space in the front pocket for 6 50-odd mm filter cases.

Anyway thanks for trying to help.
