Plastic spool on film advance - Have you...

One of the "wings" on the film advance-spool, is broken where you start the film leader. A bit surprised that Leica would design an otherwise well-built camera, then cut corners by putting a cheap, semi-rigid plastic part on a busy part of the camera. I am sending to the dealer to make this right. We'll see what happens.

Anyone else experience this?

Yes. It is definitely a design/build weakness on the CL.

Yes, and I've replaced the spool myself. Contact DAG for the part.

Sherry has the Leitz spares in her inventory. She can upgrade all the marginal stuff , lub, and readjust it all.

Ronald and Vick - Thanks for the info. I'm still within the 6 mos. warranty from the dealer, so hoping all will be taken care of quickly, but I'm keeping Sherry in mind for the future. I keep hearing good things...

Never heard of a brass replacement, but I have heard that it's the same part used in some Minolta SLRs of that day. My CL had one tab missing for several years and it did not cause any problem at all with loading or advancing
