Plustek 7600i SE work

I just bought SilverFast 8 plus for my Plustek 7600i SE scanner. When I upgraded my Mac to OS X Lion, the drivers stopped working for the scanner, which frustrated me. I decided I wouldn't upgrade...it seemed like blackmail.

My X100 got sticky aperture blades, so while it's being repaired I made peace with my scanner, upgraded, and scanned a Provia slide.

Sorry about the long-winded explanation, but the scanner and software combo seems to be working great...I'm very happy with the scans I'm seeing.

Leica M6, Zeiss Biogon 2/35, Provia 100, Plustek 7600i SE, SilverFast 8 Plus...

I love that Provia. I agree I have a scanner just like it. Awesome scans.

Dave...do you notice a difference in the quality of scans from 7 to 8? What about the user interface?

I have the same scanner as you and was considering upgrading to Silverfast 8...

Patrick...I think the color profiles for the different film emulsions look better to me. My complaint about SF7 was that the color never seemed right. SF8's interface is much better...cleaner. I think for a new user it's still more difficult than Vuescan, but for a former SilverFast user, it's much more logical I think.

It was a reasonable $59 spent.

Good to know, thanks. If the profiles are better then it'd be worth it to me. I also find the color profiles in 7 to be a bit weird.
