Has anyone used this? I'm looking for a solution to scan 11x14 and 12x16 silver prints, and cannot afford a $2500 Epson. I've read mixed reviews, emphatically in both directions, and do not want to buy something that I would not want to use long term. Sample scans would be great, if someone has some. Thanks!

Hi Mark from Plustek here. The OpticPro A320 is a decent CCD based scanner. We have customers that use it for all types of commercial applications ranging from scanning prints for on-line sales to print inspection systems. The scanner comes with basic software that does not allow for much image adjustment. However, it does have TWAIN and WIA drivers so you can scan into Photoshop. It is also supported by VueScan. You can also profile the scanner if you have a reflective IT8 target.
I think if you set your expectations appropriately, you will be happy with the scanner. If you are expecting the the A320 to perform exactly like a $2500 Epson, you may be disappointed. But to be honest, I've never done the comparison.
Let me know if you need any additional info: markdruziak .at. plustek dot com.

Thanks, Mark. I've never used the larger Epsons, so I cannot compare, but I am curious how the A320 would compare to a common smaller format Epson, like my V500.
