I'd like to get away from a flatbed scanner for negs. I was happy with my V500 but sold it.:bang:
I have read good reviews about the plustek (@2x the cost of a V300) but they mainly refer to slides. I want to do 35mm BW negs, no slides or MF. I had trouble getting 35mm negs to sit right in the holder of the V500. I wonder if the Plustek holder is any better.
Just looking for a few comments.

The V750 is great too. I have a Coolscan IV but prefer the diffused light output of the V750 for most negatives.

Where can we get better scanning holders? specifically ones that can straighten up curled negs? the plustek at least you can pop in the curled negs and scan right away... I have both but haven't really done a comparison! :-x

I have a 7300 Plustek scanner and the 35mm negative holder works great. Never had any problems with the 75+ rolls scanned in the past year.

I maybe missing something but bettrscanning seems to have medium format holders and the glass for MF and 35mm but no holder for 35mm...

Thanks cjm, that is helpful.

That was my impression too, .ken.

Another vote for the plustek. I haven't used any other scanner, so I can't really compare them, but the plustek gives nice results and hasn't broken after more than a year. No problems with the negative holder. I have many examples on my flickr page, just search "plustek" on my homepage.

Hi.

Does the plustek scan the entire roll at once (batch scan) ?

Thanks.

No. It only batch scans 1 picture :D
You have to move the film holder yourself, there is no motor to do it.
I find it great for B&W. With VueScan you can select which channel to use to get the image. I find green and red much sharper than blue. I selected green. It gives very sharp scans without the grain problems of the 35mm Nikons.
