I've seen the Sonnar 135mm F4 in Contax mount, and that seems perfect. I shoot M nowdays, though, sometimes go back to Contax for a minute, but an M just feels perfect, shoots a lot faster.

The M2 it the one I've got, but M4-P or M3 will be next on the list, partially for that 135mm frameline. The M2 will be loaded with P3200 for night work, where I've rarely seen a shot where a 135mm would've been better at night.

The Tele-Elmarit 135mm is a monster. I've seen this lens, it's hardly practical for travel, and my setup is hardly practical for travel as it is.

What size is the 135mm nikkor? I saw a really nice black one with hood and caps go for about $150 dollars. Tele Elmar seems to be about $200. I've never seen these lenses in person, so I don't know how well they fare for size.

135 4.0 Elmars might be $200. The smallest is the is the tele elmar at $400.

It is shorter and a little fatter.

Canon and Nikon made some and they are the most small, short and narrow.

If size is the main criteria, N or C are the right ones for you.

If you can live with a slow lens, how about a 135mm/F4.5 Hektor. They are available in both screw and M mount.
