Poetry Please ...

'I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky;
I left my shoes and socks there -
I wonder if they're dry?'

Spike Milligan

Ahh ... Spike the master!

Things that go bump in the night,
should not really give one a fright.
It's only each ear
that lets in the fear,
that and the absence of light.

Helen--super! No doubt you'll be awarded the RFF poetry prize of the year...
Paul
Haha funny... I think I'm better at shooting than the poetic prose

"the rat race choir" was an effort to get there but worth it 🙂 That's a good name for a band.
Pleased you liked it Dan... The whole piece in writing was an effort with The chimes of the rat race choir echoing from behind
The cluck of a shutter is far easier 😉

there is a high mountain called Neritum, covered with forests;
not far from it there is a group of islands very near to one another
Dulichium, Same, and the wooded island of Zacynthus.
It lies squat on the horizon, all highest up in the sea towards the sunset
while the others lie away from it towards dawn.
It is a rugged island, but it breeds brave men,
and my eyes know none that they better love to look upon.
