Point and Shoot AF Classics - post yours

I think some posters need to be reminded of the definition of classic... ;-)

adj. 1. a. Belonging to the highest rank or class.
b. Serving as the established model or standard:
c. Having lasting significance or worth; enduring.

Well some would say that a Talbot Solara is a classic car, but when compared to a Jensen Interceptor(also a classic) it is not nearly as prestigious. There are many levels to classics, whether cars or camera's or some other objects of desire. ;)

I knows this one is a classic. Says so right thar on the front. And it even takes purty good pikshures too.

All joking aside though, 'classic' is as interperative as beauty. What I like about this one is the way it mimics the very classic Canon P rangefinder, while being able to completely collapse the lens into the body. Not a lot of p&s zooms could do that when this was made, especially at that focal length range (38-120mm). And it does take very good photos, on a par with the Sure Shot Zoom XL.

Anyone using one of these?

I haven't run any film through it yet. For some reason it survived last year's spring cleaning but I cannot persuade myself putting some film in it.

So many, many classics. I picked up a Konica Big Mini BM-201 at a thrift store on Monday. I have read some good things about this camera. I will put it on deck after the XD-11 with 24mm f2.8 that I picked up the same day.

Time to add my shockingly large herd to the thread. And those are only the known working ones. Apparently I really just pretend to dislike battery-dependent cameras...

The APS in the foreground is a Minolta Vectis 260, nifty little thing that I paid 50 cents for just to get the case (perfect fit for a Rollei 35). Makes me smile that it is indeed bigger than a Minox 35.

Favorites are the Rollei prego 130WA and the Minoxes. I can't warm to the Nikon, oddly enough.

I should cull some soon. Watch the classifieds.
