Point and Shoot Images from the Adirondack Mountains

Hi all,

I rarely post - mostly lurk - but thought I would throw a link out to share some images I made with a nice little Fuji point and shoot of mine on a recent backpacking trip in the Adirondack mountains of New York, USA.

Images are made on HP5 processed in Rodinal. Last time out there I lugged my RZ67, several backs, lenses and tripod up there and it about killed me. Beautiful images but it was WORK. So this time I decided to focus mainly on the hike/climb and just enjoying time with my friend, and as a result had a refreshing and enjoyable time out just "snapping." I highly recommend it if you find yourself burnt out...

Really nice. Something about the HP5 and processing that gives a 40s/50s feel despite the modern clothes and gear. I like it.

Lots of good, underated P&S cameras out there. What's nice about the Fuji's is that a lot of them have the remote control feature, which you put to good use. Great photodocumentary of the trip. I feel a little like I was there with you through your photos.

There's some good memories there. I've never made it up marcy for some reason, but have climbed algqonquin and iroquois, and have camped a few times by colden dam- one of my favorite views to wake up to early in the am.

Great pics coming from a P&S, but I realize many of them have great lenses. I'd bet they would be beautiful in color too.

Thanks for the compliments folks - I'm very glad you enjoyed the images. By the way, meant to originally include the camera model type in the original post - the camera is a Fuji GL mini-zoom. Thanks again!
