Polaroid SprintScan 4000 (scsi) on Windows 10

Scans from my Epson V750 pro are not cutting it for 35mm and the negs from my Olympus Pen F 1/2 frame. So I unearthed my scsi controlled Polaroid SprintScan 4000 from the basement. I popped the scsi card in my Windows 10 machine and plugged in the scanner. Windows bios recognized the card and scanner on boot, but Windows 10 is not seeing the scanner, so I need a Win 10 driver for the scsi card.
Anyone have experience getting scsi devices working on Windows 10? It's an Advansys ABP-3922 scsi card that I have.
The Sprintscan 4000 was a good (and expensive) scanner, and I'm not in a hurry to replace it with another scanner of equal quality if this one can work.
I guess my alternative is to dig up an old Win XP machine and use that as a scan machine.

Since I put 10 on my computer, it won't recognize my two external drives. Drivers are not available so I'm looking for a seven to access and transfer to a new external drive. I worry that I might have the same problem. Good luck, I found generic drivers on the IN but am nervous about using a third party: I've been burn by third parties before.

I'm using an Adaptec 29320LPE (it's PCIe slot card) with my drum scanner in Windows 10.

You should check your computer and see what type of slots are available. There are a number of cards (Adaptec is probably your best bet) that will work in Windows 10. I have also Adaptec 2940, 29160. They all work in Windows 10 with Windows 7 drivers.

BUT, a working SCSI cards in Win 10 might still not be enough to get your scanner running as some SCSI devices are fussy and might not work with certain type of SCSI cards (or their drivers).

I'm on Win10 64, with an Adaptec 29320LPE-Ultra320 SCSI. I have an Adaptec driver (2010 - V7.0.0.12) and Win10 sees it without issue. For the scanner side (Canon FS4000US) I'm using Vuescan's driver with absolutely no issues.

John, what interface are the external drives using? I have both generic USB (2 & 3) as well as eSATA running transparently. Standard Win10 drivers all around.

Also using Window 10 with SCSI. I have two scsi cards installed and can run both scsi scanners simultaneously. Adaptec 19160 and an Adaptec 29160n both using driver version 7.5.645.100

This sounds hopeful. It looks like Adaptec was bought by Microsemi, and it looks like they are still supporting the Adaptec 29160n card up to Windows 7 64 bit. And there are some on ebay.

Picked up a 2916n card, not realizing it has a 50 pin connection, my old Advansys card was 25 pin. So now I need a different cable, assuming a cable with 50 pin to the same connection on my scanner will work properly. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, get a 50pin cable and it should work. My scanner works with both types of cards (25pin and 50pin) with correct cable.
