Hi, I'm looking to get into developing and scanning my own film (mostly tri-x) and want to track down a Sprintscan 4000 Plus but they seem to be almost nonexistent on the auction sites and there also seems to be very little info out there about them. Does anyone know if they can run on windows 7 or newer? Any warnings or tips? The 4000 non plus shows up on the bay pretty cheap but never seems to have film holders and I also don't know how well used ones hold up...do lamps need changing, etc?

TL/DR: Want info on SS4000 Plus where to buy and if its worth tracking down.

Thanks!

Polaroid SprintScan 4000+ was made by Microtek. See if you can find Microtek 4000tf, it's the same scanner.

At least Vuescan and Silverfast will work with this scanner in Windows 7.

I had Microtek 120tf (4000's "bigger brother") and it was an excellent scanner. I never tried running the included Microtek Scan software in Windows 7, though.
