Wow, some tough choices. These are all good images; some are excellent. For me there are two tests here: firstly which would I want to hang on the wall, and secondly, which would I be most proud of having taken myself. I would really like to be able to claim numbers 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 in my portfolio (if I had such a thing!). But my final vote, for one to hang on the wall, goes to number 2. I love the symetry and the lighting in the stairs, and the person descending adds interest. I'm also amused by the shooting scenario - I can imagine the photographer pre-visualising the scene and waiting for a random person to appear, then pouncing on their prey like a tiger!

Well done all! It certainly shows that FSU tools are not in any way inferior when it comes to producing good images.

Tough decision indeed.. for me, it's between nrs. 3 and 9, where 3 has got the edge composition-wise, and 9 catches an expression best.. In the end I think I'll go with nr.3..

I've hesitated between #2 and #3, but I chose #3. IMVHO, it's the most original, creative picture of the selection. I like the kid like a fly/spy on the wall; nice contrast between different textures, and excellent balanced composition.
Cheap gear, priceless picture! :)

edit: Oh I forgot: Nice work Nzeeman!

I've looked at all the photos above several times. As has been said, tough choice!
I would be happy to have most of them hanging on my walls.
I would have been very happy to have taken any of them.
Ultimately, I kept coming back to #3. That one breaks some "rules" of composition to very good effect. The one I really would like to have a good print of!

Nzeeman, thanks for doing the work on this again this year.
I think there are some fine photos here. I voted for #7 "Ghost", a good capture that tells a full story and yet still leaves something to the imagination.
I also wonder why some of the finalists seem to have been uploaded after the end of the competition time, May 15?

Nice group of images. For me #4 stands out above the others.
Just would like a bit more contrast and it would really shine in my opinion. Great light and lines.

Thank you for making it possible Nzeeman. It´s been a pleasure to participate. It´s been a surprise to be in the 12 finalist (I remember a great photo by Petardima and another one by Gerardo).

My favourites are 2, 3 and 4 and I´ll chose the number 3.

This has been great Nzeeman ... thanks for your efforts.

For me it has to be pic one ... they are all excellent photos but that pic really draws me in to the scene with the focus on the little point and shoot and the interest being shown in it. I like the dark tones a lot!

I was also delighted to be included in the comp and looking at the other entries that didn't make it into this group makes me realise how good FSU cameras and lenses are! :)

i had one problem when choosing finalists - many photos had a lot of great comments but later they didnt get votes. i wanted to break the rules and include them also but i didnt know what others will think.

I looked most often at numbers 4 and 12. Tricky, but maybe 12 could do with a tiny crop perhaps, while 4 would make a lovely print.

So I go for number 4.
