I was surprised to see this thread, since gallery uploads limits were set in January to be five per day. Due to a glitch somewhere in the software that somehow become unlimited.
It is now set to a limit of five per day again, with the file size no bigger than 300kb each -- or at least that is how it is should be working now....
Another issue is total storage per member, and the age of the images.
For instance is there really a need for images older than two years?
if older images were automatically deleted based upon age, members could always upload them a 2nd time if you want to keep them up.
The problem with unlimited images and storage is that our software was not made for that. Eventually too many files sitting unused on the server will likely slow the server down as well increase the chance for file corruption.

There are many fine images here, I'm surprised you would even consider deleting them. Delete the old gear talk rather than the pictures if you want to save disk space. The day the site starts deleting images is the day I stop posting to the gallery, and I'm sure others will feel the same way. And without a gallery, I will spend much less time here.
